Why do we get nosebleeds?
Epistaxis:
The medical term for nosebleed is epistaxis. The most common epistaxis is the anterior epistaxis where the bleeding happens from the front of our nostrils. Each of our nostrils has numerous blood vessels called kiesselbach's plexus which is found very close to the skin. Usually our mucus moisturizes the skin and the blood vessels. But, during winter when we inhale dry air it removes moisture from our skin causes drying of skin in our nose. Our blood vessels are so sensitive leading to damage because of drying and causes nose bleeding or anterior epistaxis.
